Service Overview // 02

What is BDL's Vector Packaging Service?

A complete, GOI-based one-stop service for the rapid and stable packaging of lentiviral and retroviral vectors — no in-house production infrastructure required.

01

One-Stop Packaging Platform

Submit your GOI (gene of interest) and Bio Design Lab handles everything — from vector design and viral production to titer measurement and delivery. Organizations without in-house production facilities gain access to high-quality vectors at competitive cost, backed by our domestic manufacturing capability.

Lentiviral Retroviral GOI-Based
02

Domestic Production

In-house Korean manufacturing infrastructure enables faster turnaround and significantly lower cost compared to overseas production — without compromising quality.

03

Animal-Study Grade

Vectors are produced and quality-verified to meet in vivo research standards. Scalable titer options tailored to your experimental scope and timeline.

No GOI? No problem. We can work with researchers at any stage of preparation — reach out before your construct is ready and we'll help plan the optimal packaging strategy for your project goals. Start a conversation →

Packaging Pipeline // 03

From gene to delivery — four precise steps.

Every project moves through a defined pipeline: receipt and verification, production, quality control, and final vector delivery.

01

Gene of Interest Receipt

Gene sequence intake and baseline verification — ensuring your construct is ready for packaging before production begins.

SEQUENCE VERIFICATION
02

Viral Vector Packaging

Lentiviral or retroviral vector production using validated packaging protocols, followed by concentration and purification.

LENTI / RETRO CONCENTRATION
03

Quality Check

Functional titer measurement and basic quality confirmation to ensure vectors meet research-grade performance standards.

TITER
04

Delivery

Finished viral vectors delivered with cold-chain handling and shipping as standard.

Expression Architecture // 04

Three configurations.
One packaging technology.

The same gene can produce very different biological outcomes depending on how it's packaged. We offer three proven promoter system architectures — each with distinct expression profiles.

Promoter
Promoter 2
Your Gene
2A
IRES
Reporter / Gene 2

Two Promoter System

Independent expression of your gene and a reporter under separate promoters.

Promoter
Your Gene
Promoter 2
Reporter Gene
Promoters 1 & 2: CMV, MSCV, EF1a, UBC (must be different)
Reporter gene: GFP, Luciferase, RFP
Your gene: cDNA sequence

One Promoter 2A System

Bicistronic expression via a self-cleaving 2A peptide — equimolar co-expression of two genes from a single promoter.

Promoter
Your Gene 1
2A
Reporter Gene or Your Gene 2
Promoter: CMV, MSCV, EF1a, UBC
Reporter gene: GFP, Luciferase, RFP
Your genes (1 & 2): cDNA sequences

One Promoter IRES System

Cap-independent translation of a downstream gene via IRES — primary gene expression maintained at full strength.

Promoter
Your Gene 1
IRES
Reporter Gene or Your Gene 2
Promoter: CMV, MSCV, EF1a, UBC
Reporter gene: GFP, Luciferase, RFP
Your genes (1 & 2): cDNA sequences

The same gene can yield fundamentally different biological outcomes depending on packaging strategy.

Bio Design Lab's vector packaging service is not simple production — it's technology-embedded vector design. We help you select the optimal configuration for your research objectives, even before your project is ready to submit.

Deliverables & Specifications // 05

What you receive.

Every packaged vector order includes basic QC information including titer data, and ready-to-use aliquots.

Titer Measurement

Titer is measured using an appropriate in vitro assay that is selected based on the vector design and gene of interest.

Scalable Volumes

Flexible production scale from small-scale research batches to larger research volumes. Volume and titer targets are confirmed with each client before production begins.
